The basic principle behind PDT light therapy is the photon-induced stimulation of porphyrin, a photosensitive, naturally occurring compound used in the production of hemoglobin. As a direct result of photo-stimulation, porphyrin moves into a higher energy state, reacts with oxygen and makes the cell adapt to an increased content of oxygen. The central nervous system triggers a cascade of reactions responsible for accelerating whole-body metabolism, such as increased cell – membrane permeability and, subsequently, cellular exchange of nutrients and other products of metabolism.

One day intensive hands-on workshop training for 11 AM to 4 PM
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After completing this activity and passing test skin care professional will be able to:
- Describe PDT – Light Therapy used to treat skin rejuvenation
- Evaluate the proper application for treatment of acne and burns.
- Explain optional PDT treatments for reduction of bruises
- Understand the scope of practice.
We will discuss the consultation and assessment process, implement selection criteria for recommending treatments, and explore the importance of establishing realistic patient expectations and patient education to ensure the positive patient outcome.
After the first part, workshops break for a half an hour.
The afternoon will provide intensive hands-on sessions. We will explore the creative and artistic aspects important for a successful treatment outcome, which will include special techniques to create the look your patient’s desire and ways to treat difficult problem areas. Our ratio of instructor to student for this class is 4-5 students to one instructor. During the course, you will gain valuable insight on the “How To” of this unique business model for optimal success. We will discuss price structuring, market trends, and retention of your client base. Attendees will receive a course manual and a CD loaded with the necessary supporting forms and templates such as history, consent, and policy/procedure and much more.
Student receives a certificate of completion of the training hand on workshops.

Workshop for PDT- LIGHT THERAPY – continuing education, training and certification for Cosmetologist, Estheticians, RN’s and other medical professionals, and for select courses massage therapist specializing in the newest technologies.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Please note: All cancellations must be received in writing via mail. Cancellation Policy must be strictly enforced since workshops require a great deal of planning and preparation.
A refund will be given, less a $50.00 processing fee, if canceled at least 7 days prior to the start of the workshop. Any cancellations after this time will not qualify for a refund. However, with the approval of the administrative department, a credit may be issued for use in a future workshop.
